Just days after the London Marathon 2008, I plucked up the courage and applied online for a 2009 ballot place (they’re like Gold dust, as you can choose which charity or not to run for).
But, as I had to wait some 5/6 months to find out i started running in June of last year (just in case!), though this was partly to get fit again. Sadly I wasn’t successful!
Anyway, though jogging/running for around 6/7 months, I hadn’t really ‘stepped up the gas’, e.g. 2 miles ev other day, then maybe 3 miles every ‘other other’ day etc.
Hope you get the picture .. UNTIL!
A charity I have a genuine concern with (Reasons explained later on): The MYASTHENIA GRAVIS ASSOCIATION, UK http://www.mgauk.org/ called me up to ask did I want a place in this years London Marathon! With just over 3 months to go! YIKES! (Nb was on their waiting list for a 'Gold Bond Place').
The Catch? Well it’s not really a catch, but I do NEED YOUR HELP - PLEASE!
-------------------------------------------------------
I have to raise a minimum sponsorship amount, as is the case with all the 'Gold Bond places'.
The good news is;
1/ Any money raised is for a charity I totally believe in and have a personal reason to fully support.
2/ Because of the short notice, MGA have agreed to lower the minimum level required from £1,500 to £600
All I need now is you lovely generous and caring people out there to please read a bit about why I fully support this charity, kindly donate PLEASE to the cause however much you possibly can - I know the 'credit crunch' makes things very difficult, but PLEASE HELP. Follow my blog, look out for me on the TV on 26/5/08 and remember i’m doing this for YOU too! I'll enjoy it too of course!
